Need Graphics Driver for Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family

    Hello everyone,

I need to install the graphics driver, "Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family (WDDM)" for Windows 10, but I can't find any drivers supporting Windows 10.

Can anyone help me in choosing the correct driver to work with Windows 10 Pro (32-bit)?

Don't look, there is no driver for windows 10, but when installing windows 10 as an upgrade or clean install windows will install a driver for you and it will work fine as a matter of fact, the only downside is you are not going to get any advantages from directX 12, but your computer will work fine.

I have the same problem on an older Dell Latitude E6410 ATG. I "inherited" it from a trash pile at work and decided to fix it up for my kids. I was easily able to load Win 10 on it and everything worked fine, except gaming. Ultimately, the kids decided that playing Steam games was more valuable then Win 10 apps & games, so I downgraded it back to Win 7 Pro because of the available video driver. Unfortunately, it looks like Intel will never create any Win 10 specific drivers for this older hardware.

I know this thread is very old but go to this MS Update Catalog page for a Win10 compatible Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset family driver for the graphics.

download any of the cab files for version 8.15.10.2697 dated 10/1/2012, open the cab file in 7zip, extract all files inside and use Device Manager to install the driver. done.

I have an old Dell Inspiron 640m/e1405 laptop that uses mobile Intel 945gm graphics and I installed v8.15.10.2697 on there (that same version for Win8/8.1) and it works with any build of Win10.

    Hello @erpster4,
I thank you for the procedure you descibed above.
I realized it on my ThinkPad but after having installed this version of the driver, the Graphic card appears disabled in the device manager with the message "Code 43 : Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems."
Do you know how to solve this ?

    Regards,

    Hello @nIGHTmAYOR,
Actually I am tinkering this computer in order to make it work fine on Windows 10 .
Indeed, without the correct driver, I do not have the hibernation feature available in Windows 10, and the brightness control neither. So this is not for gaming but simply having a correct use of my ThinkPad T60.
Even if this computer is very old , it is still in very good conditions and runs perfectly Windows 10 with a SSD and 3 Gb of ram Today, so why deny it ?

    Hello @nIGHTmAYOR,

The brightness works (I made a mistake in my previous post) but the hibernation does not actually, and I am not sure this basic driver will make the card work as good as it could with the exact good driver.
