It happens to me too, usually after gaming sessions. There's another topic about it in the gaming section. I haven't been able to narrow down yet if it's a Windows issue or an Nvidia one, but I'm leaning towards Nvidia.

Hi, just to be sure- did you check the version number of the driver after the restart and the tiles/display corruption was apparent?
Yes i checked that so i am sure that the windows update didn't change the driver.
You're not the only ones..as you probably know...

Windows 10 Start Menu Icons/Tiles Missing After Gaming - Windows 10 Forums
- a glance at system specs shows it's experienced with several different graphics cards.
See this one- posted today:
graphics card - Windows 10 Live Tiles Disappear when SLI enabled - Super User
"My start menu tiles are invisible after playing a game with SLI enabled. If I disable SLI then everything is fine and the tiles stay there after gaming. Another workaround is to restart or log out / log back in."
Thanks and good to know that others also report the same problem.
was starting to think that my graphics card was the problem but i see the same problem with people who have much more recent and higher specification graphic cards
will have to wait on microsoft or nvidia to fix the problem with an update
hope it comes quickly
Maybe you can try what is suggested here and worked for them:
