    BSOD - Video TDR Failure - igdkmd64.sys

I'm running into an endless loop of bizzare screen flickering and screen resizing and finally ending up in a BSOD and restart. This is happening only when I connect my laptop HDMI port to a new 32" LG monitor NVIDIA G-Sync 32GN63T. This doesn't happen when I connect the HDMI port to an older 20" ViewSonic VX2450 series monitor. I have an HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13-y0XX with Intel HD Graphics 620 display adapter bought a few years ago. Windows 10 is up to date and even the BIOS too.

I tried several techniques posted online such as:

    1) Disable, uninstall the Intel Graphics card from device manager
    2) Reinstall drivers as my Intel display driver
    3) Rollback display driver
    4) Change power management settings etc
    .
    .
    .
...nothing worked and I still have the same issue.

How can I make my laptop connect to my new monitor without this issue? Appreciate your help.

    Hey.

Short and simple, it wont work with HDMI and there is no way to make it work with HDMI right now. The solution for you is to get the dongle for USB-C with Display port. Nothing else will do in this case.

Is it because of the resolution incompatibility? The same monitor works fine with my office laptop HDMI port which is of a basic configuration. My personal laptop HDMI port works fine with the Viewsonic monitor. My personal laptop has USB C port but for USB only and doesn't output the display. So, what's the issue here? Also, what's the solution too?

The specs for the laptop (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05310058.pdf) claim that the HDMI port is version 2.0a. Its Intel HD 620 graphics specs (Intel Core i77500U Processor 4M Cache up to 3.50 GHz Product Specifications)
should support your monitor (32'' UltraGear QHD 165Hz HDR10 Monitor with NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium | LG USA) at 144Hz in QHD (2560 X 1440) over HDMI 2.0a.

In other words, it ought to work. I'm not sure what's causing the problem.

Thanks for the detail. Where to start to diagnose the issue? I switched HDMI cables as well with no luck. Ran diagnosis on my personal laptop and found no issues. Appreciate your direction.
