Display looks laggy in Win10, not sure what the problem could be

Hey guys, I'm new here and I've been trying to solve a problem for some days now. I just built my spanking new pc with very good specs and samsumg's 4k monitor. After assembling everything and installing win10 I was quite surprised to see that the motion in the OS seemed sluggish, start menu, minimizing windows, closing windows...etc. Even my mouse' pointer kind of lags. I thought it would be Driver issues, but after installing everything, this still persists. I have a pc at work with win10 and everything just moves so flawless and perfect, and that pc is not even HALF of my home built one. I'm cracking my head up with this, any advice would be of great help.

If I didn't quite explain myself, please let me know.

My system is basically the same as yours. My monitor is a Samsung U28D590D. (UHD, 3840X2180. Only TN, but it operates at 60 Hz.)

Are you getting a 60 Hz framerate? I'm not sure what 30 Hz would look like, but I think it might not be the best, even with an LCD display.

I am using a DisplayPort cable. The HDMI ports are only spec'd at 30 Hz at UHD resolution.

Thnx for the quick reply. I just checked and it's at 30hz, I am also using HDMI. Could the refresh rate be the problem?

Let's not get too huggy here. :)

Thanks for posting back. I wasn't sure that 30 Hz would be the explanation, but it's good to know for future reference.
