How to set screen resolution to 1920 x 1200?

Just thinking..... Is there any way to get back to Windows 7, where I was 4 days ago? I was always satisfied with Win 7. I do not need all the new stuff.

Can't recall last time i needed a monitor driver, hmmm, although my ASUS has one for certain features not having to do with this.I thought generic PnP be fine.

incorrect. See post #1.

The monitor ID "drivers" may be worth installing, but replacing the Microsoft basic video drivers is much more important.

That may be a good idea. It makes much more sense to go to 10 from 8, rather than 7. (IMHO.)

On the other hand, you have a rather high-end system there. Are you willing to struggle a liitle for some nerd cred?

Monitor "drivers" are nothing more than configuration files that tell Windows what timing ranges the monitor is capable of supporting. As long as you get the resolution and refresh rates you want out of the default driver, there is nothing to gain from installing the manufacturer's driver other than seeing the proper name of your monitor instead of "Generic LCD Panel" or whatever

Nice explanation topgundcp ! My ASUS PA248Q, native res. is also 1920x1200. The disc came with it makes it also show the model in Device manager instead of Generic PnP, but not shown to be supported for Windows 10, plus it only adds a utility for ASUS MultiFrame Software. In Display properties i do see my model number, but not in Device and Printers or Device Manager.
