I have 3 monitor screens running QHD. Two are running it from my Desktop on 27 inch IPS monitors. I love those. The screens are big enough to show the text at a size I can read and I have a ton of visual real estate to use. That is all with a similar cheap card using Display Port output. My new laptop has a 15.6 monitor QHD touch screen. It is useless. Text is way too small and scaling is horrible, so I run it in HD output. It works fine there.

So for a desktop with a large enough monitor the higher resolution is very useful. However I have not bought a QHD TV yet as there is simply not enough content for it yet.

MSI is definitely the maker of choice when it comes to info on HDMI. Even the low end GT720 has HDMI 1.4a, 4K @24hz. No good for gaming, but fine for lesser requirements. I expect other graphics card manufacturers also give full info, but I havn't found one yet.
