    Rotate Display Orientation

    Hi All,

    I have a Dell XPS 15 with Window 10 version 1909.

I am projecting my screen to my Dell P2719H, but I cannot get the system to rotate the display when the P2719H is plugged into the HDMI port.

The setting in Display Orientation setting is greyed out. I can rotate my screen when the P2719H is not connected.

I've tried Tablet mode, that didn't work. There is no Rotation button in the Action Centre. There is no option to rotate in the Intel Graphics Control Panel. Nor in the NVIDA control panel.

I have changed the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AutoRotation to 1, it did nothing.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

    Regards,
    Rob

Did you see the entries in the Tutorials section?

My experience in the rotation of the display goes back more than 30 years ago with CRT monitors that had a base that allowed the monitor to rotate 90°, had a friend working for a newspaper that used those monitors during the lay-up phase of creation in viewing what a newspaper page would look like.

I did see that, but none of it helped. After some mucking around I discovered that if I Extended in Project and not go to second screen only, then orientation was available in settings.

I use it in portrait mode for music making, not that anyone is listing to my music, but it makes it easy to create music that no one listens to.

    Cheers,

    Rob,

I think this all sounds like your display driver is not playing ball. Try reinstalling it in case it has become corrupted.

Try a third-party utility to see if it can do what Windows cannot. iRotate is alright - EnTech Taiwan Utilities iRotate

    Hi Denis,

Thanks for the help. I found that after some mucking around I discovered that if I Extended in Project and not go to second screen only, then orientation was available in settings.

    So that fixed the issue.

    Cheers,

    Rob
