Moniter power up but fails to show anything.

    Windows 10 version 1909.

I just installed a new to me graphics card in my wifes desktop but the moniter shows a blue screen, a message saying HDMI no signal and then goes black. I changed the cable back to the on board graphics but it does the same thing. Everything was OK before I made he card change. Suggestions please, the wife is NOT happy with me at the moment.

It would be useful if you at least gave the model numbers for the monitor and the graphics card.

Did you remove the graphics card befroe switching back to the onboard graphics? That may be necessary to get a signal.

Thank you for the advice, I will give that a try.

Asus Moniter. Asus PBZ 77V Pro motherboard on board graphics.

I've removed the graphics card (EVGA GeForce GTX 1050) and the machine is now in it's original working state. Everything powers up but the moniter still goes black after the intial blue screen no signal message. Any further suggestions please?

With the PC running and no moniter I assume that a network dongle plugged into a USB socket should flash indicating a connection, yes? The USB socket powers up a USB drive but the dongle does not flash and the PC does not come up on the network. Does this indicate that the unit is not booting up?

I'm not sure, but I doubt that the boot can be completed without a working graphics adapter.

You don't list what sort of Asus monitor you have, but I imagine that it has more than a single type of input. Can you manually select the HDMI one? (I'm not hopeful about that.)

If the onboard graphics don't work with the new graphics card removed, all that I can suggest is clearing the CMOS. That's decribed on p 2-10 of the downloadble manual. https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/m...74_P8Z77-V.pdf

    Best of luck.

No manual input select. The only other option is VGA and I don't havea cable for that. I must be dim but I can't find the page reference you mentioned 2-10?

OK, I've found the reference and cleared the CMOS but it has not resolved the issue.

Decided to change the motherboard having exhausted all my knowledge. Tried the moniter on a friends laptopwith my HDMI cable and it worked perfectly.

My apologies. I made a typo. As you may have discovered, the CMOS reset jumper is on p. 2-19.
