BIOS (basic input/output system) is the program a personal computer's microprocessor uses to get the computer system started after you turn it on. It also manages data flow between the computer's operating system and attached devices such as the hard disk, video adapter, keyboard, mouse and printer. ...We update the BIOS firmware so that new features can be added or bugs can be fixed.

BIOS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Revision A1 tells me that your BIOS was never update. Mine is at Revision 9 (Graphic) and the last update was in October 2012: Version 7..15. When I purchase the computer in January 2011 it was at Version 7.12 with a lower Revision number for the Graphic card. When I update from Version 7.13 to 7.15, visual rendering was not only better but HD quality was at best = Revision 9.

Now you try to run Win Ten with a BIOS Version made for the first Version of Windows 7. Think about it?

Unless you go to a computer specialist, It's you and only you that can update the BIOS upon the advices of the motherboard manufacturer on their web site. There ain't no automatic update for that like in Windows Update.

By updating, the actual Version of the BIOS (shown in the mainboard page of CPU-Z with the date) it will switch to the last while Revision A1 for the Graphic will also switch for the better to the last.

Now that I can understand, thanks. So irrespective of whether it would solve my problem, are you saying I ought to update my BIOS anyway .................. and if yes, can I ask how to do it in simple terms please..... because you wiz guys speak a different language to this mere mortal ...

Let save time if you want.

Go there, It's all cook in the plate: Computer Data Top to Bottom. Compare CPU-Z accuracy with Win Ten Internal Motherboard Sniffer. It should be the same:

    Search Windows/System Information/System Summary

    What's written there?

    1) OS Name
    2) System Type

Go there and see if there's an update for you:

Install the free BIOS scan and show us the results before applying them. Mine was up-to-date: Only the date was off set.

Are you on the Win7 to Win Ten upgrade or did you clean install Windows 10 after?
Will have to come back on the Java issue but first, you must update the BIOS..

Your motherboard is a Medion MS-7318 and the last BIOS update is in 2010 (Release Date: 2010-01-04). You have the original one: 2007-02-02 which is not good enough for Win Ten.

BIOS AGENT PLUS SHOULD GIVE YOU THIS UPDATE RESULT:
    http://biosagentplus.com/bios/MEDMS7...m8u737jviainm1

These are the specifications of the last update:
    Download Medion MS-7318 1.14 motherboard BIOS - MEDMS7318 Wim's BIOS
If you succeed updating the BIOS, these specifications (Version 1.14) should be shown in CPU-Z and/or System Summary. Good Luck!

I hope that BIOS Agent Plus will be able to do the work for you. Otherwise, it's not that easy to do it manually...

    April Fool 2010

    Dear Joe,

It may sound funny but the 01-04-2010 version of your BIOS is the one you need to deal with Microsoft servers and run proper DRIVERS. The actual version that you have is ain't correctly recognize by Windows servers no more: It's buggy and out-of-date.

The link below gives you the installation procedure and the file to download. It's from the manufacturer of you motherboard and it's free (a funny company to end your motherboard series on April fool).

Find someone in your hometown that can help. The solution is now on your side of the Atlantic.
You must update your BIOS no matter what you do to properly connect with Microsoft Drivers Data Base.

P.S.: 30$ was ain't that much because on my side of the Atlantic it's just good enough to buy a not so fancy little chocolate cake. Think about it?
