    4K (144hz) Monitor & Cable

Which is the best attachment cable for my monitor, or any other that has both ports.

HDMI - D Sub or Display Port. I have no idea what D Sub is. What does the Display Port actually do in terms of visuals.

Some displays will not use the highest supported refresh rate and/or resolution unless using a Display Port 2.0 connection. It'll give the highest quality.

    Hi,

It all depends on Hardware involved.

This article gives a good insight on the factors that could help determine if you want to go with DP or HDMI. Since D-Sub max at 75Hz it is already disqualified.

D-sub is a 15 pin mini D connector. Used for VGA (analog) video. A relic of the 20th century.

DisplayPort and HDMI are both all-digital interfaces, and they're similar. If the graphics card in question is an RTX 3060 ti, you may need to use DP to get 144 Hz at 4k. It has DP 1.4a. It may be limited to 120Hz at 4k, and that would require an HDMI 2.1 cable. GeForce RTX 3060 Family | NVIDIA
