How to get Windows 10 after July 29

I have Windows 8.1 and am not upgrading to Windows 10 for awhile to see how things go. I noticed today July 29th that the upgrade icon in my taskbar disappeared. So when I decide to upgrade will I need to go to Windows Update or Windows Store ?

I suspect you can force the upgrade.. I used this method and had no issues:

If you have reserved your copy of W10 already, but it hasn't downloaded yet, then you can use Brink's tutorial to do the upgrade and W10 will automatically activate. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2...tallation.html

How does it make any sense to "reserve a copy" of something that can be copied indefinitely because it's not a physical entity?
