I downloaded this morning on laptop running 8.1 and there were no issues. I'm actually really happy with the ability to set things to my liking so far and may actually upgrade both Win 7 desktops if this keeps up I should also mention I easily connected automatically to my network printer (Canon MX 882) which had not been compatible with 8.1...oh yea!

How many of you and pay attention to this. Have Upgraded from 7 0r 8. THEN clean installed via DISK or USB over the current activated windows 10 and have it activate? I can only seem to get it activated VIA upgrade.

I would guess this would be a Windows 10 fake. I downloaded what was considered Windows 10 update this morning. It taken about one hour or so. All went well with no hitches, etc. Being an hour and just getting to see what has changed and what I must do.

So, here's the strange thing. I downloaded BeLarc Advisor and when all was done and saved. I find I don't have Windows 10, but, Windows 8.1 (x64) (build 9600) Installed 7/29/2015 (10:30 a.m.)
Would someone do the same and see what they get withBeLarc.
    You are probably OK.
Belarc needs updating by them reports my w10 system as windows 7
Use showkey instead search the forum and download the app from superfly post #1

I'm one for two so far.

8.1 Pro X64 at the shop ended with black screen about the time I should see the login screen. Was able to rollback to 8.1 after doing 3-4 hard resets. I think this is a video driver problem, will try it again tomorrow disabling the onboard video in BIOS first.

8.1 Pro X64 at home went smooth. I downloaded the ISO via the MediaCreationTool then mounted it under 8.1 and ran setup.exe to do an upgrade. Went clean and all is well.

Nope. Almost 18 hours later and Microsoft has completely shit the bed and not provided the operating system. I see others have received it, but I'm also hearing a lot of reports from people seeing nothing and not being provided the product they reserved. There isn't even an ETA as to when the issue will be resolved and when we will be allowed to download the product.

This issue could last hours, days, or weeks. Welcome to MICROSOFT.

Waited all day for the Windows Update thing to complete after the BT folder downloaded this morning; when nothing further happened I went the Media Creation Tool route and its installed and activated as of several moments ago. Pretty smooth ride through the Media Creation Tool route I can say.

Mine went without a hitch with the download tool. Windows 10 ISO Download - Windows 10 Forums It wanted to get new gpu drivers but after that it was all good and all my programs still work which is impressive since I came from 7x64. I had no triangles in the device manger but installed all the ten drivers for my mobo anyway.

EDIT: If you have more than one drive unplug them all but the OS drive first.

I may have to do this too.
Just home from work. Forced an update, still failed. Followed the delete software\download route, redownloading now. If this doesn't work, media creation already ready on the USB. :)

I am a Windows Insider and my PC already had 10240 on it from previous install about a week ago. But I downloaded the Microsoft tool and ran the upgrade to get the 29 July version of Windows 10 Pro x64 10240. Everything went smoothly. I also downloaded an ISO for later clean install use.

The upgrade did leave the following hidden folder on my pc that wasn't there prior to running the upgrade tool , it's 5.79GB in size:

    C:/$Windows.~WM
