I basically went back to 8.1 because I can't stand the aesthetic horror Microsoft has made with W10.

It is by far the worst worst worst worst version in terms of design ever.

Windows 3.1, 95, 98... were horrible, but there was a unity, all icons and designs had a same common style.

Windows 7 was finally beautiful. The one that people loved at first glance, finally, which helped immensely to its success. Windows 8 changed to a flat style and started to have mixed elements from different versions, but still kept a very good general unity with some exceptions.

W10 combines elements from every version and there are lots of things from all of them, which are totally incompatible. The new icons are just terrible. They tried to made them flat and only made them ugly like hell. Everything is wrong. Not a single new element or design idea is right.

I just can't stand it. If only the windows color was still customizable, but not even that.

So as you can see in the screenshot, where the red arrow is, that is the space that the Start menu can NOT collapse down to. It's like they always have to be two tiles wide regardless that the "wide" tiles take up the space of two small tiles.

It should really allow me to collapse down the start menu to the actual width that the tiles occupy, or hell for that matter let me collapse the menu down to whatever size I want, make it so that I'm only seeing half of the wide tile in the image and the other half is hidden if that's the way that I want it.

If I try to make it any smaller than shown below, it will collapse down to one column, but then it will rearrange all my icons from the right column and put them into the first column just as if I make it wider it will take my music section and put them on the right, so it does some auto adjusting but you just can't get rid of that empty space when you want to.

Surely its what it can do, rather than what it looks like? You can have a beautiful lady who is totally braindead and vanity riddled, or a plain looking lady who can blow your mind? Take yer pick?

What is it that Windows 10 can do and Windows 8.1 or even Windows 7 cannot do that is so mind blowing? And I mean really mind blowing.

The Keyboard and Notification icons on the taskbar are a different size than the Sound, Battery, and Wifi icons.
That may be because the Keyboard & Notification icons are more likely to be tapped / mouse clicked to utilize their functions, especially in tablet mode. IMNSHO.

Sorry if this has been said before.
This hidden-clock UI error is really annoying. Please see image attached.
The screenshot has been taken on the bottom-right edge of the screen, of course.

I didn't see much easthetic difference between 8 and 10. Disapearance of border, maybe...But I agree that the flat icon style is horrible. And what's worse, website designers are following the trend...
