You can stay on the insider if you want to.
But, by doing the upgrade, you will be getting the latest build.

If you haven't received your win 10 up grade you may wish to try this over ride to the download per microsoft instructions.

I used it early today and can say with authority it works with no known issues.

My status with the GWX app never left the Validating phase after having the BT folder downloaded all day so I went the Media Tool route and the install of Win 10 went smoothly. Don't know why the Windows Update process did not move forward but the new OS is installed so there it is. I never installed Win 10 TP so it looks a little new but nothing you cannot use after only a little looking around and trying things. So far so good here.

Did it ask for Win 7 or Win 8.1 product key?
What do you see in Start -> settings -> Update & Security -> Activation ? Just Windows is activated?

There is no need for outside link's. This forum has its own tutorial section and should be used.

After waiting all day for the notification to upgrade (via ~..BT) folder, I have started using the Download Tool. So what do we do with the $Windows.~BT folder. Will check disk take it off. I did save the install.esd anyways on a separate drive. Will also save the install.esd from the download tool. They should be the same?

Just checked: In addition to the $Windows.~BT file, I also have a $Windows~WS being generated by the download tool.
