Open up windows update. It may be waiting on you to install.
I'm on top of updates almost daily. There are no updates at this time. I've had the tray icon ever since it was first made available a month or two ago.

I'm still waiting, is it only 32bit or is there a 64bit version also.
If you entered the Windows Insider program months back for the TP you simply relogin at the WI page and then download the Media Creation Tool mentioned earlier on this thread. That will provide two options. 1) Create usb flash drive, and 2) Download iso. The two automatically download all files necessary once you select language for your location, the edition of which there are four Home, Home N, Pro, and Pro N. Then you select whether or not you want the 32bit or 64bit or note BOTH! for a combined USB Installation Key or both on the ISO upgrade only image.

24 hours, and I still don't have a $Windows.~BT folder in C: (and yes, I disabled hiding protected OS files in Folder Options). Will just have to find an ISO somewhere.
If you didn't get or have the Media Creator which downloads all the necessary files that would explain quitee a bit as the only thing available prior to 3AM EST was the Patch with the 1,000 fixes someone linked an article for. Once the correct download is complete you should be seeing two not one new folders on the drive. $Windows~BT sits above the folder with the installation files simply being the recovery folder while the $Windows~WS contains the upgrade setup files. Refer Post 392 Page 40 of this thread.

Is it normal that my $windows.-BT folder is still 140Mb? I've checked the SoftwareDistribution\Download directories and there's approximately 2.6GB of data in there, but there's been little or no movement on anything for several hours. Just hoping it isn't stuck somehow!
I got 1.48gb 1.5gb size on drive for that one. The WS folder is 10.2gb in size there. It only took about 10minutes to download the files for seeing the usb key made up while it is going 4hrs. for the iso! It finally is showing 99%!

Run cmd as admin and then type wuauclt.exe /updatenow then hit enter. Run windows update, this will start the windows 10 update download.

You can also run the same command if an error message comes up while downloading Windows 10. It will continue the download.

Running this command doesn't appear to do anything as far as downloading things go.

Oops, just kidding... There's a new definition update for Windows Defender!

IDT - Audio Device - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
    Download size: 11.6 MB
You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.
    Update type: Optional
IDT Audio Device software update released in August, 2013

Optional update for this one doesn't happen. I've tried three or four times, and it will not update. It came in a bundle of 8 drivers and is the only one that didn't install. I shut down and rebooted . . . still no joy.

Nah, it's there ready for installation, but it won't install.

Edit: I checked for updates again and it disappeared! Went in and checked Installed updates and it's still showing as failed. Sigh . . . WU won't find it now!
