W7 Update shows Upgrade to W10 Pro file that has failed to install two times. Tried restart and that didn't work.
Don't know what to do to fix it. Any ideas ?
Wait until tomorrow. Windows 10 upgrade or updates will continue to fail until the Windows 10 upgrade package is ready. Those fails you're continuing to notice are nothing to be concerned over for the time being.

Leave it be until tomorrow morning, Thomas. More and more of us are getting that and most likely it's Microsoft just testing. Else, there's gonna be a helluva hubaloo tomorrow morning!
Thanks. I made my mind up to wait till I hear from MS

I know it's not really the place but quick question.

If I update Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 on my laptop (which came with 8.1 pre-installed), will my OEM key be permanently converted to a Windows 10 one? Can I perform a clean install of Windows 8.1 again in the future and get activated?
This has yet to be completely verified. In my experience, my hardware is registered to a specific Windows 8.1 key. For example when I did a hard drive swap and a completely clean install (free of bloatware), the Windows licensing piece knew exactly what my key was. I am interested to see how 'smoothly' this will work because I am in the same boat as you are should I ever want to do a fresh install.

Yes it will be attached to a windows 10 activation - and yes you can reinstall windows 8.1 using the same key

We will find out tomorrow if the key stays the same as the embedded key or if MS assigns a new one for the win10 activation
