Easy answer, difference in number of customers !!!
Very, very true CountMike!!! Good point.

What's the number? Windows 10x over Mac & 100x all Linux... something like that? But, wouldn't you think they would of considered that? People are going crazy today!

BTW- I finally have Windows 10 up & running!

I see that win 10 has downloaded to $Windows.~BT folder but when I check the report on the Get Windows 10 icon I get this.

And yet my laptop I rarely use is ready to go and waiting to be notified for upgrade. I'll just keep waiting.

He he, I'm going crazy too, I think MS got a bit surprised at volume considering (some think) fiasco with W8

Hey :) Today i make a bootable USB and i wipe my HDD and install new Win 10. But if i choose my primary hard drive (440GB) its say to me this: Partition isnt in the recommended order. And something about GPT. Does it matter or not? And i dont have a installation in UEFI mode.
    1) The partition layout is different for windows 10
    2) if you getting GPT message your PC booted differently then the prior setup of that HDD

Not sure how your PC is booting - without the full message context..

As of this morning my $Windows.~BT folder had 5.93Gb in it. I've tried to use Windows Update but have had 2 fails for Win10 Home. Did 1-3 on the above list. "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" was empty. Now the $Windows.~BT folder has dropped from 5.93Gb to 140Mb & stuck & C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download has 30.8Mb of data! Huh?
Same happened to me and now i am back to upgrading through media creation tool (selected the upgrade option in it).
Lets hope it works. PRAY ... PRAY TO GOD! DAMMIT PRAY

I've been dealing with the "partition isn't in the correct order" but so far I've always just gone ahead and installed and never had a problem with it so far.

Having said that, being the stickler Virgo that I am, I'd really like to get things into the right order, but don't understand how.

Lappy 17 finally started the upgrade and is at 15% now. Desktop A is still stuck on, "OK, notify me when ready".

Gonna go take a nap. :)

I finally got Win10 running. It wasn't easy. I followed a recommendation found in this post. Use the Download Tool found here. There's 2 ways to do it. Select upgrade or create USB or IMG for DVD. I created USB because I have 2 PCs. The trick is NOT to boot the USB/DVD but to open the drive from your desktop - then select & run the setup.exe. file.
Just follow along. I have slow internet so it took a couple of hours.
