Did you get any MS email at all? Check the junk mail folder too! That when in will have a link intended for you use. Once on the MS page you may just find a key sitting there. Since this is the first 10 release we are all in the Waiting mode trying to see just what goes. Until then I am simply sitting back and using the time to get the media created until the email is in and I go from there for the rest.
I also found two folders not just the one BT$ whatever as you can see those suddenly appeared right as the download started.
If you are a Windows Insider you have the option for an immediate "Online Upgrade" right on the spot or creating installation media with a flash drive at least 6gb in size or download the iso for 32, 64, or both for Home or Pro depending on the edition of 7, 8, 8.1 you are upgrading. Having just got finished with the usb key here I am at 35% downloading the iso at the moment.
When the tool finished the first time I was brought to a Win 8.1 installation page where the popup for the tool had mentioned having the product key ready pointing at 8.1 not 10 just to clear this up a bit. As suspected after the first year of free upgrades once the retail media is out then 10 should be seeing separate product keys. Right now MS is simply pushing 10 free to get people to upgrade into it.
Good to see everyone is getting the update.
I'm now away till Tuesday pff, ill have to wait till then until I can install it myself!
Out if curiosity, does anyone know what build it was that downloaded? 10240?
I'm confused as to what to do to upgrade from Win7 to Win10. As an insider I installed a dual boot Win7 Home & Win10 early on but uninstalled Win10 after a month or so later. I do have the $Windows.~BT folder with 5.93Gb of data. My "Get Windows 10" says I have Win10 reserved but nothing else.
If I have all the data why isn't it ready to upgrade?
