Bing results are crap compared to google.

I have tried it many times already.

Hope there is some antitrust issues that will force microsoft to let us change the search engine in taskbar search.
I humbly disagree, if anything Bing has the same or better results in most cases.

    Google:

    Bing:

Use chrome/google as default for search results-screenshot-5-.png

Make Google your default search provider then use the old 'Address' Toolbar.
Can't +rep you right now, but methinks your suggestion is a suitable workaround

Interesting workaround but it does not work properly

If you try typing any query into it, or type something e.g. duck.

It will launch chrome tab with this address
    http://duck/

    So it does not work.

Also now there is two address bars in taskbar, which looks crap
and most people would just instinctively use one.

Hope someone soon get a proper hack for this.

    That query is two simple.
Of course the result is not gonna be different.

It's when you get into more complex queries, specific searches (not simple topics like dog breeds) and questions
    that's when google wins.

I have done this test many times already on both.

    Welcome to the forum, madmax2.

Please post proof of your point just as fracking4oil did.

Haven't seen a machine with Chrome OS on it for a while. Can one change default search engine in it?

I am still unsure why people are complaining about how Cortana search works, it doesn't force you to use it in web browsers, search there is the same as always

Can this in Android be changed to something other than Google
Use chrome/google as default for search results-okgoogle.png
that is the equivalent of search in taskbar, its a 'personal assistant' designed to make things easier, on Google products their version uses Google to search, on ms products it uses Bing
