windows *does* remember the old location... -just messing with you mystere-
but seriously: it seems some people recognize this, because it bothers them and some people don't know what all the fuss is about. so I conclude that we who are bothered by the new-win10-issue may feel a disturbance in our work flow.. hence the first post from drybonz:
I'm at work so can't check, but I think my Explorer (as well as VLC and Chrome, maybe some other things) seems to remember its position fairly well. However, if I open the partition manager, or the start menu properties, they are always right off in a corner of the screen at a tiny size, no matter where I moved them or sized them the last time.
Irritating.
I know it may seem nit picky, but it's an important distinction. If it didn't remember it's position it would always open in the default position regardless of where it was when you closed it. The fact that it remembers it's position, then seems to deliberately adjust means that it always opens in a different place, based on where the window was when you closed it.
I registered just to say I'm with the OP on this one
