Thank you for your explanation and your suggestions. I have tried the "Clear Type" and the "Smooth edges of screen fonts" features that you've suggested but the result is always (much) worst in comparison to leaving these two features at their defaults.

I would like to underline that, as can be seen from my initial (first) post, I have never faced any kind of text appearance issues with any browser or other program that I regularly use. IF I would have faced such issues with Google Chrome, my current default browser, or other programs that I use daily, for hours, I would have wiped out Windows 10 from my system completely, and I would not consider even thinking about using them again, at least not until I would replace both of my monitors.

Right now, however, I see this blurry - not crisp text only on those Windows components I mention on my first post. The truth is that I see this blurriness on some programs (and their installers), as well. CPU-Z is one example. I already resolved this, though. By ticking "Disable Display Scaling On High DPI Settings", for all these programs.

Oh, and I always use the latest NVIDIA driver + my monitors' native resolution. Always.

Later today I will try to "work" a little bit with that option called "Change only the text size".

My impression, so far, is that this is something I will have to learn to live with... Just to learn something new out of all of this, though, tell me please from what exactly does this crispiness but also the appropriate text size really depends? Does it have to do with the dot pitch and the inches of a monitor? What is the relationship? In other, simpler, words :

    - What specifications should a monitor - of 24" or bigger - have to display all the text crisp, sharp and at around size "11" or "12". For this last figure I'm not sure I express it correctly, but to understand me imagine a desktop of 125% zoom (or DPI?).

    Thank you.

    Hello again

After setting the "Zoom"[*] to 100% on both of my monitors, I have "played" a little bit with the "Change only the text size" feature, on Windows 10 TP, build 10147. The results can be seen in the following screenshot :

    Blurry text-ts.png

As you can observe the blurriness in the Device Manager's text has been fixed! Similarly, on other Windows components like the Disk Management and others the text now has the appropriate size and crispiness / clarity. This feature though has caused problems in text displaying on other applications, like the Aquasuite in which text is now overlapping or in HWiNFO64 where the text in the Sensor Panel does not increase its size, it stays too small. I bypass this though, let's consider it a problem of these applications specifically and let's assume that their developers should adapt them.

    - Why doesn't the text in the properties of my GPU get set to "12" ?
    - Why doesn't the text in the "Home" menu, for example, of the File Explorer get bigger?

In the "Change only the text size" drop-down menu I have set everything to "12". Not everything however gets set to "12"!
Is this the way it is supposed to work or is this a glitch / bug?

[*] : "Zoom" means the "use these display settings" in the Display window. I had this set to 125% but in this example I set it to 100%.

These may yet get fixed as Windows 10 evolves - keep sending them feedback! There must still be old snippets of code in the dlls that control the appearance of property dialogs that do not respond to global changes in screen font sizes. There may be registry hacks possible though?*

As far as ribbonzes are concerned - we hates them, oh yes we does! They will eventually be rethought and something else, equally obscene, will be promoted as the way to go for Windows app task control.

Still, everything is looking sharp now, even if it's too small to see!

    * How to Access Option and Change Font Size, Color in Windows 8 and Later? - AskVG

Now this hack requires that you use the functionality of Windows 7 to get the settings right, using the appearance dialogs then take a backup of these registry keys:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\Colors
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics

Next, you need to take these reg files to your Windows 10 system and backup these three keys. Next run the 3 .reg files from the Windows 7 system to update the registry values in Windows 10, and the font sizes should be how you want them.

Thank you for your reply and your support! It is very surprising that so few people participate in this thread. It makes me wonder, am I really the only one or are we so few, who face such issues?

Anyway, from your reply I understand that something is not working right. I think that you, as well, mean that both in the Properties panel and in File Explorer the text that appears smaller now should display bigger - since everything is set to "12". Am I right?

Furthermore, I do not understand what you mean with "ribbonzes ". I am not a native English speaker.

When it comes to Feedback I've already reported this and I will keep doing so, up to a reasonable amount of times. In this latest, leaked, build though I am not asked for Feedback, even though I've set it to "once a day" and I always log in with my MS account. I do not mind. I am genuinely looking forward to the next official ISO. I will clean-install it and start from there.

    Thank you.

PS: Oh thanks! I will try your suggested edits after one hour. :)

Okay, I have tried it but unfortunately it does not work. Nothing happens - the font size remains the same.

Specifically, after exporting these keys on my Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium desktop, I have rebooted and back on Windows 10 I've set everything at their defaults. This means everything in that drop-down menu was set to "9". Then I have merged all three reg files, after moving them on my Win 10 desktop, and rebooted. The text size remained the same. I have then applied each reg file one by one, in the given order, Singed Out and Signed back in. Nothing happens. The text size and Icon's size remains the same. The pop-up after each merge informed me that the keys (values) have been successfully added to my Win 10 Registry, on each occasion. But nothing happens.

Finally, I've set the system to 125% "zoom" and applied these settings again. It does not work - nothing happens.

"Ribbonzes" - as in "hobbitses" a reference to Lord of the Rings - meaning the "ribbon" - the control area at the top of Explorer and Office desktop applications, which used to be just menus, toolbars, and buttons, but appeared as a tabbed toolbar in Microsoft Applications in 2007.

I did not read further on in this:
Advanced Appearance Settings - Change Text Size for Items in Windows 8

Which indeed says that this does not help - sorry.

This is yet another major annoyance of Windows 8 that is so far carrying on into Windows 10 - lack of interface settings control for users.

I had this problem and apparently gone through all the same steps as you I guess. In Windows 8.1, there is a "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays" option that fixes it for me, but nothing like this option is present in Windows 10, at least was not until build 10147.

Thank you all, the few of you, for your replies + support. I am giving up.

I am going to ignore / forget the "blurriness matter" on all these Windows components, on all these parts of the operating system itself, which they are supposed to function properly, according to my personal opinion. It's not that I have been talking about some third party application, supposed to accommodate to this new OS. This is the Device Manager, the Task Scheduler, the Disk Management, and all the rest, that do not display appropriately on my two monitors : nothing exotic - nothing Korean. A very good all rounder (my DELL), and a very nice 24" Hewlett Packard. Both excellent performers on daily Office / Home usage, and nice on light gaming, too! But no, the Device Manager will NOT display clearly!

The best setting I've found to apply so far is a 125% Custom scaling level. It is this not recommended setting that displays everything (I've tested), from the Office 2013 and 2016 Preview, up to my browsers, my monitoring tools, my system-stressors, my motherboard utilities, the Aquasuite, and the rest of my programs, at the right text size and clarity. The system's components display at the appropriate text size but blurry and weirdly bolded. No problem.

Looking forward to the next official ISO.

    Thank you.

is it DVI-I or DVI-D youre using? might be problem. what sort of GPU you have? might cause such errors if it starts to bend out due to power requirements (errors in the picture).

OT: windows 10 adjusts itself with the sizes of icons and stuff, ive noted this with my 55" samsung and 32" LG that i use daily basis. when i go with the HDMI connection on both and plug samsung in, the windows adjusts sizes of icons and texts by itself, its pretty cool, altho i hate having a 1/4 sized bsplayer on my screen but it works nicely tho

Just out of curiosity: how are the monitors recognized in Device Manager?

If they are showing as generic, you may see some benefit by installing the "drivers" for the monitors.

    (Just a guess.)

I'm mostly satisfied with text on my (cheapish) 28" UHD Samsung monitor.
