    Windows firewall & Spartan/Edge

OK, maybe I am missing something......but why if I stop Windows firewall, does it stop Spartan/Edge from being started!?.
If Spartan is running and then I stop Windows firewall, Spartan continues to function - until I close it and then try to restart.

I only ask as I use a 3rd party firewall and if and when I change to Windows 10 I would therefore disable Windows firewall.

    (build 10130)

That doesn't happen for me. I have my firewall turned off all the time (because I have a hardware firewall). I've never had a problem with Spartan, including on 10130.

Does it give any errors about not starting or does it just do nothing when you try to run it?

nope, no errors! - with FW stopped clicking on Spartan tab splash screen displays then vanishes. Start FW and Spartan opens quite happily...stop FW while Spartan running and all is well, but close Spartan and try to restart and puff splash screen is gone!.... surely this can't be a corrupted iso??????

Thanks, thats what I thought it was based on what you said

If you check in Reliability Monitor (search reliability in control panel) does it have any messages similar to 'Spartan has stopped responding and has closed'

**I am back on 8.1 but I think the above still applies to win 10

Only other idea I have, turn off your firewall
    then re register the apps

see if this fixes what is broken
