Windows Defender ain't exactly Beta and it happened once again, quarantining Word (Winword.exe) - I'd better explain it was from a copy of Office 97 I run either over my network or from a shared drive depending which device I'm working on - it may not be new, but it's fast and compact like the .docs it produces - and the documents are identical when printed, or converted to .docx or .odt (or saved as WordPerfect 5.0 or 5.1, DOS or Windows, for that matter) - so it isn't installed in Windows 10 on my laptop.
Perhaps that is why it is recognised as malicious by WD - it's old and tiny at 5.2MB, and pretends it's a Windows Word program - perhaps it's a virus in disguise. Shame on you WD not recognising one of your own relatives!
