What's the problem with accounts when upgrading to Win10?
In the past I've done a 'keep nothing' upgrade to Win10 and it was smooth sailing.
I had the error once before and my solution was to do the upgrade by keeping my files and folders instead.
Now? I get account issues every time I try to upgrade to Win10, no matter if I'm using the normal Build 7400 that you get on Win8's Windows Update; or an iso straight to the recent Build 10130.
The Error:
- Installed Win10 Build 7400 on top of Win8.0.
After you log-in with your Microsoft Account, it k ept restarting that part a few times, so eventually I ended-up with both a Local Account and my Microsoft Account. When I was configuring the upgrade to Win10 Build 7400, I did it specifically keeping 'Nothing'.At this rate I'm going to have to do a new re-upgrade, keeping my files and settings, just so that I don't have account issues. That's rediculous.I'm concerned that my Microsoft Account's user account profile under C:\Users has the name C:\Users\ksdix. It's never been "ksdix" before, usually it's C:\Users\karl. The name of the user folder in the file explorer navigation pane is the usual "Karl Dixon". I wonder if this is something that could cause file/settings permission/access problems later-on, and if it's related to the hiccup during the re-upgrade to 7400 where I ended-up with an MS account and a Local Account.
Anyone know what's happening here?
