Is there any log file I could view in my old windows folder to see what may have caused my blue screens? I would like to prevent this from happening again.

    Onehotelfoxtrot,

Events are stored by default in "C:\Windows\System32\winevt\Logs" (.evt files).

If you can locate them, try to open them in the Event Viewer application. If not, NirSoft has the following:

FullEventLogView - Event Log Viewer for Windows 10/8/7/Vista

    Onehotelfoxtrot,

Your decision to install W10 again is a good one.

Been looking for a solution to your problem since you posted the issue, and did not find any options that took care of the problem. Installing W10 was the most popular decision in the websites I looked at.
