    Windows 10 Brightness Issue

    Hello
Brightness in my laptop changes automatically, It goes dim then i have to manually change it. I've been facing this problem from past 10-12 days. Since the new windows 10 update came, it is really annoying. I did the adaptive setiings and they are turned off, also The drivers are properly installed. I am using ASUS ZENBOOK UX303UB with Intel HD 520 and nVIDIA GTX 940M

Probably set for Smart dimming or Auto dimming, depending on what Asus calls it. It would be in the advanced Power settings. Just have to turn it off and also make sure that if there is any software for the Display adapter, that it is not set to allow "Adaptive" Brightness.

What last part? The part that adaptive brightness is in the Advanced Power settings? This is basic windows 101 stuff. It is the same way of changing power properties as it has been since Windows XP.

My adaptive settings are all fine. how do i check whether this is happening because of some application?

I figured out how to turn it off.
Settings -> Power and Sleep -> Additional Power Settings -> Change Plan Settings -> Change advanced power settings -> Display -> Enable Adaptive Brightness -> OFF.

I was having problems with the adaptive brightness, too.

A lot of people enable it and do not realize that there is a sensor used to check, which is actually the camera if there is one. It actually uses up more battery power if you have it enabled. Also can cause problems when coming back out of S3 sleep state, by the screen not returning to pre-set brightness mode.

Shouldn't be a problem with an application. The steps in my post above will probably fix it. Did for me.

    I did this
Intel HD Graphics Control Panel > Power >On Battery > Disable Display Power Saving Technology.

It did work for me for few days. But I Feel again the same issue has started.
