Speedy Gonzo: Thanks so much for posting back on this, and I really hope that did the trick for you. Sorry I didn't see your original post about this, but you can follow along with this post. But yes, when you're home, I want you to verify that this process did the trick. I want you to restart the computer, log into the other accounts and check it all out. I really hope that this 'permissions' deal was the issue, because if so, then problem solved! =)
I hope Unco does this process correctly and gets it fixed too, as long as his technical computer issue was just like yours. Let's hope that it is that same exact problem.

And from what I've heard in the past: Some programs' installations tend to mess around with some folder/file permissions. God is the only one who knows why people program their programs to mess around with security permissions. I wish Microsoft can put a permanent lock on letting any program modify those settings, because they are a hassle to try to fix. That's practically the only valid sounding reason that I've ever heard for those settings to somehow mess up. But yes, always keep this technicality in your mind, because this is an important issue to always remember.

And I'm crossing my fingers for you, that this WAS the fix for you! =D
It really sounds like it is, but just do the restart and log into the accounts to verify that!

And of course! I'll check out your other post and see what I can do for ya =)

unclepine - you out there or did you throw your computer out the window? The fix above WORKED - at least for me. Do exactly what pepanee typed above and let us know what happens.

    Good Luck!!

For anyone who has been looking for the solution to this, I'VE FOUND IT. So it seems to be that messing around with Windows themes and customization ex.: UXpatcher or OldNewExplorer, or something like that (like me) something in system files permissions changes, in my case it wasn't local user folder (or icon cache), it was the system folder, specifically imageres.dll (or maybe could be shell32.dll) at %windir%\System32\. So those files contain the Windows system icons for any program (including explorer.exe), so changing the permissions of the first or the second, putting the broken user, will instantly start to show your icons on the affected account. You're welcome!
