    One Drive Loses Files

    W10 build 1803

Yesterday, I copied some files and moved some to One Drive. This morning I restored my system from a Macrium image and discovered none of those files were no longer there. Also, my Outlook 365 .pst files were not up to date. For example my Calendar and People showed things as they were when I made the backup.

I guess I don't understand why this is and as a result have very little confidence in using One Drive to keep my important data.

Will someone try to help me get the warm fuzzies?

    Thank you.

Not sure I understand your issue. Any image is going to restore to exactly what was on the Drive/Partition/ Volume, just as it was when you created the image?
Whether or not you have a One Drive issue is a separate issue. Personally, I don't trust One Drive for anything much less the only copy of Important files.

Maybe I don't understand your issue

That is exactly what has happened. The issue is that those things that were put or on One Drive after the image was created don't show up when the image is restored. I expected that of things on a local disk but didn't expect it to happen with those things on the 'cloud', One Drive.

Are you saying if you go onto the cloud they are not there? When you use an image it assumes you have deleted your files but see if they are in the bin How to use the Recycle Bin in OneDrive to restore deleted files | Digital Citizen

That is exactly what I am saying. I looked in the Recycle Bin and found one of the 4 or 5 files but no sign of the others.

    Go figure!

I, too, found One Drive to be unreliable. So I switched to Google Drive. No problems. None. Zero. Nada. Love it.
