AM/PM For The Time At The Lock Screen

Hello, I like seeing AM/PM on any time value. I already know if it's AM or PM, but it looks more Proper to see the AM or the PM with whatever time it is.

What Registry modification/Program can help me achieve this?

    Thanks

You can change the time format, how time is shown on Windows notification area freely but AM / PM is regardless of your settings never shown in Windows Clock and lock screen if 24 hour clock has been selected.

To change how time is shown on Windows desktop, select Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Region, click Additional settings:

Now change time formats manually typing any of the following values for short time. Add :ss for long time for seconds:

    h:mm
12 hour clock, no leading zero, no AM / PM
    h:mm tt
12 hour clock, no leading zero, with AM / PM
    hh:mm
12 hour clock, with leading zero, no AM / PM
    hh:mm tt
12 hour clock, with leading zero, with AM / PM
    H:mm
24 hour clock, no leading zero, no AM / PM
    H:mm tt
24 hour clock, no leading zero, with AM / PM
    HH:mm
24 hour clock, with leading zero, no AM / PM
    HH:mm tt
24 hour clock, with leading zero, with AM / PM

Here I have selected 24 hour clock with AM / PM, but it's only shown in notification area. Opening clock does not show AM / PM, nor does lock screen, whatever settings I have chosen as long as I am using 24 hour clock:

Using 12 hour clock AM / PM is always shown in Clock and lock screen if selected.

    Thanks for the reply Kari,

I remember going by something very similar to this back in Windows 8.1, but wasn't able to get the AM/PM to work on the Lock Screen. So I just hoped that the next version of Windows would have it fixed. But I still isn't able to get it to work still =/

So I went to the location you showed in the pictures and played around with short time, I changed it similarly to long time: h:mm:ss tt
    -> Apply -> OK -> Apply -> OK.
I lock the screen, yet I found it slightly funny to what I saw.
So apparently the setting that I changed is the one that is directly related to the Lock Screen, because now it shows the seconds. Yet that 'tt' is supposed to show the AM/PM by default, since it's already set in the settings.
    1) When you enable the seconds, like I did above, apparently the Lock Screen shows the seconds, but they are frozen in Time! lol, the time is shown with the seconds, yet they're not increasing; time stands still!!
    2) AM/PM isn't showing.. darn.
    3) (My favorite) Refer to the attached picture. Notice the first Colon ":" it is shown correctly where it is hovering up a little bit from the base of where characters begin, yet the second Colon has slightly dropped down to the base of where characters begin. (Look at both colons and compare them both; they should be on the same level, yet they're not). So if you try to analyze the whole situation, you can see that the Time is a little drunk.

How do I sober him up?

wow.. so check this out: I'm messing around some more with the settings; trying new things.
I typed this for Short time: h:mm tt tt (two 'tt's)
and the Lock Screen actually SHOWS IT CORRECTLY: 7:49AM
BUT now I have another problem... apparently the clock in the bottom right corner of the screen shows 7:49 AM AM

LOL? Did the clock have a party and not invite me to get wasted with it???

I'm gonna change Short time back to: h:mm tt

You just need to reset time formats to defaults, I marked it on this screenshot from my previous post:

I apologize, I must be misunderstanding what you're saying. I did what you said; I pressed the Reset button.
Check out the attached picture. I modified it to put that picture from the Region settings with the lock screen so you can see what I did.AM/PM For The Time At The Lock Screen-ampm.png

Yeah, reset got you rid of those never increasing seconds, but as I told you in my first post the AM / PM will not be shown on lock screen, whatever you do.

Oh my bad.. I think you accidentally typoed something small in your sentence: =P

"...but AM / PM is regardless of your settings never shown in Windows Clock and lock screen if 24 hour clock has been selected"

that sentence states that it is possible to show the AM/PM in the Lock Screen as long as the 24 hour clock has not been selected =P

But hey, strange enough, I actually did get it to show.. check out post #4 above. I'll attach a picture. but what sucks is that the clock in the bottom right after i unlock the screen shows "8:07 AM AM"

Do you think you can forward this to Microsoft programmers? thanks

Yes, it is shown using 12 hour clock, not with 24 hour clock. That's what I meant.

End of first post of mine:

Using 12 hour clock AM / PM is always shown in Clock and lock screen if selected.

Oh I apologize. I confused myself. You said "Using 12 hour clock AM / PM is always shown in Clock and lock screen if selected"

How do I select it? thanks
