    Conspiracy????

Do you guys agree with this! or is this conspiracy?

Spycrosoft windowze 10 will be like OSX 10.9 or 10.10 and REQUIRE a hotmail account or in the case of OSX and Apple Account.

    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=507380

New Hotmail accounts REQURE a phone Number that they can Text to.

More Disturbing is their Privacy statement or lack therof.

    Their Location Disservice.

Their Turning on your camera and Microphone.

“Microsoft collects information about you, your devices, applications and networks, and your use of those devices, applications and networks. Examples of data we collect include your name, email address, preferences and interests; browsing, search and file history; phone call and SMS data; device configuration and sensor data(GeekSPEAK For Mic and Camera); and application usage."

The company also adds how agreeing to the the permissions, it is also asserting its right to collect users’ voice data and information about the files users open.

They sample keystrokes and voice commands (Like a website to your bank, the login, and password.) So 10 has built in keylogger and video and audio surveilance.

We may disclose information and content to Microsoft affiliates and vendors; when required by law or to respond to valid legal process like suing you for pirating our software and we may refer the matter to law enforcement.

The data collection and Anti privacy features are turned ON automatically and you do not have the ability to OPT OUT or turn these features off. (In plain english use of these apps is consent to monitoring.)

In plain english they reserve the right to have your Full Name, Location, Phone Number, Picture of you, Sample of your voiceprint, websites you visit like your bank, your Skype calls, your naughty sites, and "samples" of your keystrokes aka your login and password.

@Name Redacted, as a matter of public interest, this kind of condemnation needs to be posted in a freely accessible, Googlicious public forum. It won't fix stupid, but it might cause a few intelligent people to think twice before downloading the latest and greatest malware from Windoze Corruptdate or upgrading their OS. Letting Micro$haft have free reign is like an electronic version of having unprotected sensual contact with a new stranger every night.

So, we see their true colors are finally shining through as we approach RTM. No wonder they are planning to give it away. It's all part of their diabolical plan. The adware-infested Modern Apps have proven the sheeple are ready for Phase II. They should call it Microsoft Skynet 666 instead of Windows 10.

Isn't it amazing what selling your soul can get you for "free" LOL? They will have their own zombie-bot fleet, complete with official signed drivers and firmware, ready to harvest personal information for the Redmond Mafia and eavesdrop for the federal government as necessary... subject to subpoena, or the "Patriot Act" of course. But, like Ragu, it's in there.

I'll gladly stick with my older, less "secure" spyware-free Micro$haft operating systems, thank you very much. Just because it is "authorized" for what some might regard as a good cause does not mean that it is actually OK or a good cause. Spyware is spyware no matter if the guys are wearing a white hat or a black hat and covering their faces with a bandanna.

Oh, but Mr. Fox, it's going to have DirectX 12... OMG, OMG!! DirectX 12! LOL.

Yes indeed. There are options, Kari posted how to install with a local account instructions. I feel that MS is doing a good thing, and I use a MS account/Onedrive etc. I like the way it works. Some people don't like it, and just bash MS. It's no different than using an android phone where you need a google account. Why is it so bad when MS offers it? Why is it cool when Apple does it, but when MS does it's a bad thing?

Yes I am a MS fan. If you don't like it don't use it but why bash it when you don't have to use it? It's a choice.

    Rant over

Not only is it conspiracy, it's flat out ignorant.

Windows doesn't require a Hotmail account. Not even to use cloud features. It requires a Microsoft Account, which a Hotmail account is, but you don't have to have a Hotmail account to have a Microsoft account. You can also disable the the multi-factor authentication (the texting they're talking about). And you can assign your Microsoft Account to any email account you like from any provider... gmail, yahoo, apple, your own private email server, whatever...

By the way, all you "conspiracy theorists" out there... try not to sound like a total moron if you want people to take you even remotely seriously.

I don't know where to start!

The link in your post takes to Microsoft Office Privacy Statement page, not Windows Privacy Statement.

Nowhere in that statement is it told that they for instance collect your call & SMS (text message) data. Absolutely nowhere. You cannot, you just cannot paste a link in your post and then hope nobody will check the facts while posting your own tinfoil hat conspiracy theories letting the readers to think that the self-invented rant in your post following the link is in fact real.

Let's see that Microsoft Office Privacy Statement which can be found following your link. I have highlighted some points in it:

Microsoft collects many kinds of information in order to operate effectively and provide you the best products, services and experiences we can. Some of this information you provide directly to us. Some of it we get by observing how you interact with our products and services. Some of it is available from other sources that we may combine with the data we collect directly. Regardless of the source, we believe it's important to treat that information with care and to help you maintain your privacy. What we collect:

    • Registration - When you sign up to use our sites or services you may be required to provide information about yourself, such as your name, birthdate and postal code.
    • Signing in - To access some Microsoft services, you will need to sign in with an email address and password, which we refer to as your Microsoft account. If you access our services via a mobile phone, you may also use your telephone number and a PIN as an alternative credential to your username and password. By signing in on one Microsoft site or service, you may be automatically signed into other Microsoft sites and services that use Microsoft account. Click here for more Microsoft account privacy information.
    • Using our sites and services - We collect information that tells us how you interact with our services, including the browser you're using, your IP address, location, cookies or other unique IDs, the pages you visit and features you use.
    • Data from other sources - We may get additional information about you, such as demographic data we purchase from other companies.

When you are asked to provide personal information, you may decline. But if you choose not to provide the information, you may not be able to use some features or services.
    How we collect:
We use a number of methods and technologies to gather information about how you use our sites and services, such as:

    • Web forms, such as when you type information into a registration form or type a search query into a search box.
    • Technologies like cookies and web beacons (Please visit this web page to learn more about these technologies).
    • Web logging, which enables us to collect the standard information your browser sends to every website you visit - such as your IP address, browser type and language, and the site you came from - as well as the pages you visit and the links you click while using our sites and services.
    • Software installed on your computer or other device, which may send back information needed to operate, update or improve that software.
OK, then that invalid untrue fact about MS Account you stated with all upper case letters will be REQUIRED, that is of course not true. You can use a Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 computer with never giving the computer, Windows or any software installed installed on it a single email address. Simply sign in using a local account, never use email on that PC, never go to sites which require a sign in using an email address, block all cookies. That's it. The PC and Windows installed on it have no idea who you are and from where you come, apart of websites seeing an IP address. To avoid that, use a proxy or VPN service.

So, let's put this in plain text. This is what I am saying: MS will not collect all that data you claim it to collect. Your "quoted" MS link is not what your rant below it claims it to be. You don't have to give any of your personal information to Microsoft in order to use Windows 10, you do not need to create whatsoever accounts by Microsoft in order to use Windows 10.

    That's it for now.

    Kari

P.S. I am a hat enthusiasts, collecting hats and wearing one year around when going out. I know a few good hat makers, if you want to I can ask if they could make a nice tinfoil hat for you for protection.

I wanted to comment on it too, but, it's not worth it, and I just got home from work and feel a little lazy.
OK I will. Who cares as long as the services are better and my search results reflect what interest me and the advertisements I see are also of interest. You lose your privacy the second you leave your house.
