Trying to do sfc/scannow via ISO image option

How to repair your system files using DISM and SFC Scannow - Microsoft Community

Using technique to do an SFC scannow via ISO

I have an ISO (usb) on drive L

Here is what I typed in
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:WIM:L:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

It saysDeployment Image Serviving and management tool

    Image version 10.0.10074

Then it seems like it is not doing anything...just sort of clocking. Command prompt isn't back so I assume it is doing something.

Is it doing this? Or am I on wrong path. Any assistance is appreciated.

The titile said you are trying to run SFC but actually you are trying to run DISM.
You need to extract the Sources folder from the ISO file first to a folder. For example:
    1. Create a folder called: c:\temp
    2. Use one of these: Winrar, Winzip, UltraISO or PowerISO to extract the Sources folder from the ISO file.
    3. Type or just copy and paste this line:
      Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:\temp\install.wim:1 /LimitAccess
    4. Remove the temp folder when done.

NOTE: DISM command will take a while to run and seems stalled at time. Just be patient to let it run. AFter DISM then you can run: sfc /scannow

No need to extract the ISO if you open it in explorer. Everything appears correct and you just need to exhibit a little patience.

Maybe I misunderstood his question. The title said an ISO image from USB, if so then he needs to extract it else then it's OK as is.

So I don't need to put it on an ISO/USB ? I can just do it from ISO saved on my hard drive ? I actually didn't want to make an ISO on my only thumb drive since it had all my hackintosh installation programs on it , but thought I had to based on the instructions on thread. Also thought I would have to run SFC scannow since that is what was on last step of instructions on that page I posted in op.

Also reason I was worried it wasn't doing anything was that when I did it in windows 8.1 there was a progress /percentage indicator .. Nothing like this when I tried to follow theses instructions windows 10

Can anyone tell me what I should type in if for example I have ISO image on my c drive just in a separate folder right on desktop ?
    Any assistance is appreciated

Define what you mean by ISO? An ISO file is an image file. By itself you can't do much with it. If you've used that file to create a DVD or bootable thumb drive, that's a different story. Just copying the file to a thumb drive is not the same thing. Once extracted its not an ISO anymore.

Your system just needs to be able to access the install.wim file and it's really no more complicated than that. I just open up the ISO in explorer to do that.

If you're on build 10074 you can just type

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

without using ISO image file or anything, unlike previous windows 10 build.
