After upgrading today, system seemed to be working fine. I heard the tones of a shut down and came to find a black screen, but the computer seems to be running. I have tried Control alt delete restating, hitting the control key and typing the pass word. Nothing will restore the screen. There isn't a cursor either. Just black. Help!

Unfortunately it remains unresolved.
Do you see the anything on the screen when the computer boots up? (ie) the computer manufacturers splash screen or the POST screen with all of the hardware? And then a black screen? Or is it black from the get go?
If it is black then check your Video card, connector, cable and monitor.
If you see the splash screen and then it goes black, then you need to update your Video driver. Restart and press F8 continuously at bootup. At the Advanced Boot menu choose try Last Known Good Configuration. If that doesn't work, try VGA boot. If that is not available, try Safe Mode with Networking. That works, uninstall your Video driver. Go to the Computer or Video card manufacturers support/download drivers and download an updated video driver for Windows 10.
