10074 up and running in VM. . .running very well. . .more later.

Kari. . .know what you go thru. In my case it is the fear of not waking up. My brain is slowly dieing (just not slow enough), and I guess I am a little afraid of missing things. . .. . .

Strange. The links in ESD to ISO tutorial are for official and valid ESD files on Microsoft's own servers, I have now downloaded eight of them (UK and US English, Finnish and Swedish, both bit versions) and I have not been asked to join any clubs.

I recommend using official download links.

Sometimes :). Seriously, I get treatment for insomnia, it explains why I am sometimes online 30 to 40 hours.
    Hi Kari

I've got a mega cure for insomnia -- try some inexplicable Finnish TV program / movie with Icelandic subtitles --I guarantee you'd be fast asleep within seconds. !!!!!!

Build 10074 looking good -- got the esd from the published links --- seems to me that as these are so "Open" now Ms would do well simply to release them via Windows update. !!

    Cheers

It is from MS so it's as official as anything has been to date.

The Build 10074 ESD download links in ESD to ISO tutorial are for the official Microsoft server, files are official Microsoft ESD ones.

It could hardly be more official.

This went almost too smoothly! Did "in-place" upgrade 10061 ---> 10074. (simulating WU process) 51 minutes from click setup to desktop! What went right! All my apps/progs, everything still there and running great. No dumps/crashes/burps, etc.

Only thing, my file sizes aren't quite the same as yours, or others I've seen posted. I downloaded 3 separate times (EN-US X64) using 3 different browsers (Chrome, FF, IE) and got same results each time. I was expecting the update to croak and barf all over my box, but it went very smoothly, and fast! Not complaining at all, just super curious!

@f14tomcat how did you simulate the update process, I thought the only way you could use the ESD file is by converting it to an ISO.

    Thanks,
