    Windows 10

I am totally regretting upgrading to version 10. It is extremely slow booting up and even worse shutting down. I tried running Movie Maker 2.6 but ended up uninstalling it 4 times and reinstalling it 5 times and was able to make 2 short videos. Today I tried doing another and it refuses to show the editing of the beginning credits. It refuses to show a preview play of the video. I have uninstalled 5 times and reinstalled 6 times today with a reboot each time and it still refuses to work properly.

The other day I went onto Office Depot and looked at an item. The next day I had an email from them asking if I was still interested in it. How did they get my email address?? This new piece of software is an outright invasion of my privacy. I have ALL settings turned off. Today I was in Task Manager and when I ended Cortana it immediately turned back on. This is totally wrong.

How do I turn off ALL Microsoft spying??
Where can I get a RELIABLE AND FREE (not buy) movie maker?? Everything I have downloaded and installed has been a waste of my time as they all say FREE but after installing it is free for 30 days and then must be purchased.

I see what Microsoft has done, they disabled all free software and now if you want it back you have to purchase it. I located a 10 version of movie maker but after installing Microsoft wanted $29.95 to register and use it.

What am I supposed to do????

I have seen a number of Web pages touting Free to download and that is all they meant, does not mean free to use forever. That situation hearkens back to the days of Bulletin Boards, could download Shareware and try. If keeping it had to buy and couldn't simply delete/uninstall when expired then reinstall as something was always left behind to show it had already been there. Even with the Microsoft Store some programs may be free but a large number do cost, nothing different from what Apple does with their Store [probably where Microsoft got the idea].

Go back to the OS you had before upgrading to Windows 10.
If it's been more than 30 days then the Roll back feature won't work so you will have to reinstall the old OS.

People here can help you do that.

You PC shouldn't be slow with the specs you have listed in System Specs. Why not let the folks here help you get it running right?

welcome duehew , i think for that bad problem , you should go back to your former OS. just try System GoBack . and for the Movie maker , so many are free to trial not total free. that is so bad to all . when i get the free , i will notify you ASAP.

You might want to consider a clean install of Windows 10 as that could in all likely-hood resolve a lot of your issues. Now that you have upgraded your key is associated so once finished Windows will automatically activate itself.

Thanks for the reply. When I see "Free to Download" I do not touch it unless I intend to buy. Most of the time they only advertise "FREE" and no other statement. Along with the word free it SHOULD state the cost and most of the time it is not there. I was going to purchase Movie Maker 2.6 for Windows 10 for $30.00 but the BOSS said NO.

That is what I thought. I figured 10 should be the best version ever but I am seeing the opposite. The problem I have now is that I have done a system clean and installed 10 from the web per Microsoft upgrading methods. I do not have 7 on the system anymore, I do not have the install discs either. How am I going to do a clean install?? This sounds like my best option. Thanks to all for the help.

I have to admit, this is something that frustrates me to no end. A lack of understanding of what's going on immediately turns to Microsoft being at fault. Please take some time to educate yourself on what is going on with your new system before pointing fingers. Ask for help if needed, but shooting blame wildly isn't going to help anyone to help you.
