How Do I Remove A Program From The Startup Menu

    Hello Everybody,
Today I have a very simple little issue that I just know somebody will be able to solve in a snap. A couple of weeks ago I did something very stupid, I downloaded and installed some software from the internet without really paying attention to what I was doing. Along with this software came a couple of other wanted applications including an anti-virus application and a web browser called Chrome. After I noticed what I did I immediately removed both of the unwanted apps from my computer, but I am left with some residue.

In my startup menu under task manager Chrome is listed. Chrome was only on my computer for a couple of minutes before I went into my control panel and removed it from the list of installed programs and features, but it is still listed on the startup list in task manager. I have it disabled and it does not really bug me, but I would like to completely remove it from the startup list anyway. How do I do this?

    Thanks in advance,
    Rocky

Hi have you got Ccleaner installed if you have then use the uninstaller from that.
    Or run a Disk Cleaner
I myself use Revo Uninstaller you can try it on a trial bases.
    Also go to File Explorer
    Then C Drive
    Scroll to Programs
    Also Programs X86
Remove it from there if you see a folder listed with that name.
    May come up as Google
Click on that and see if Chrome is listed there if it is Right Click and you should be able to delete it
I have found on several computers that I have helped friends with that Chrome does not like to be removed.
    Hope that helps

Download: WhatInStartup - Disable/delete programs at Windows startup
    Unzip and Run.
Click on the item to select from the list then click the "X" icon to remove it.

Thanks guys. I think I will try Revo uninstaller first before I try anything else.

    Do it using CCleaner.

It it is in start menu, remove it.

If it is in Startup (then it is a registry entry), delete it.

I have Chrome browser installed, but not the default one. It is not too bad, by the way.
