Use Windows 7 repair disk for Windows 10?

    I've heard that. But it seemed like there was some backward compatibility involved since I'm using a Windows 10 computer and the backup section of it includes things for Win7. It made it look as if a Win7 system repair disk could be used.

    The early Tech Preview releases didn't have the Windows 7 backup restore. As Win10 developed that was added so that users upgrading from Win7 could easily access their data on backups in a format used by Win 7.

    I understand your thinking, hope you accept the answers given.
    There's only minor differences between the repairs, but it makes a difference when you're troubleshooting.

    People pull out all kinds of discs - it adds a day and 40 posts to get back on track
