If all your stuff is backed up, you can do a clean install, selecting the "custom" option, deleting all partitions, so that you are installing to an "unallocated" drive. That will do it, as long as your hard drive isn't failing.

p.s. if it asks for a key, select "I don't have a key". It will activate later on.

I actually tried the recovery CD one more time on a whim and it seems to be working, but I basically ended up doing what you said. But, with my luck so far, I'll update you once I get to the other side of this install, if I can.

Considering all the issues I had before, if this works, is there anything I should do to make sure nothing is wrong with the new install? Check my disk and such maybe? If you have any ideas let me know.

If I had read correctly, OP said chkdsk reported some BAD SECTORS. Time to backup your data ASAP and looking for a replacement HD. And now that you are at it, get an SSD. You will notice a huge improvement in speed.

Well now that I've reset the thing there's not really any data lol. But really? There's no way to fix it? I'm not super familiar with HDs because I've never had issues with them I guess. The thing's only 6 months old. Do you have any suggestions?

Yes, please follow the instructions from @axe0. It's quite possible the hard drive is bad, or it just had some errors; sometimes certain failed SMART attributes can be resolved by a format and the drive functions like new. But we won't know until you've done the tests he suggests. Thanks.

    Benchmark failed

Let me know if there's anything I can do to get the failed tests to go.

Replacement of the hard drive, it is failing. Backup your data a.s.a.p. if you haven't yet.

A format will not help unfortunately.
