    I have a doubt...

I entered the generic product key and it was accepted, but the only option allowed is to clean all the files, configuration, apps and personal files without specifying any unit C or D. My PC is partitioned into unit C and D where the last one has all my personal files. My question is if Windows 10 Pro will clean only the unit C where Windows 10 Home is installed or all the partitions (unit C and D) so I can lost all my personal files from unit D. My goal is to clean install Windows 10 Pro in unit C: and leave all my personal files untouched in unit D:. Thanks again...

This will only affect the C partition on the drive when using the method below to upgrade directly to Pro. :)

    To Brink...

I run from USB stick clicking setup but inside Windows. I tried to boot from the USB stick directly (I used Rufus to made it bootable) but for unknown reason the bios ignores it after setting the USB stick as the first device to check by this.

I followed the instructions from your link but I can not enter the "go to store" page. The page display an error message 0x80131500. But from my USB stick I suppose the installer will clean only the unit C, won't it?

You can try changing the product key to enter the generic key instead.

To upgrade from Windows 10 Home if you have a Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 Pro Pack, Windows 8.1 Pro, or Windows 8.1 Pro Pack product key, enter the default product key below. It will upgrade your device to Windows 10 Pro, but won't activate it.

After your device is upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, you'll need to activate Windows with your Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 Pro Pack, Windows 8.1 Pro, or Windows 8.1 Pro Pack product key.

Don't do this option. It will wipe everything.

I entered the generic key but Windows could not change to the new key. I think I must uninstall Kmspico before doing it.

Yes, or most likely end up having to clean install.

I've solved my problem and it was very easy. Let me show what I did. Be careful to make a backup of your personal files before the first step. In my case I didn't do that because my personal files were in another partition (unit D) out of Windows Home partition (unit C).

1.- In Windows 10 Home I double clicked the setup file (from a bootable USB Windows 10 Pro installer).

2.- I entered the generic product key (It is necessary to have an internet connection for on line confirmation). After the approval click next and follow the instructions. That's it.

Note: The installer only accept the option of cleaning everything, but only affected the Windows 10 Home partition.

My deepest thanks to everyone specially to Brink, navyLCDR and Alphanumeric.
