Not sure to be honest.. I recall that MS posted an upgrade path and it showed that an ISO would be available but no mention of that since some time ago. If the ISO is available for free then I'll grab that.. if not then I'll purchase the DVD with the ISO on it.
Jeff, if what I've been told is true, there won't be a DVD. Download only. And who's to say what that'll be.

Nuts... I hope that doesn't happen because how would people who build new PC's get a copy of Win10. You would have to download a full copy to install fresh on a new PC that didn't have Win7/Win8.1 on it already.

If a download of an ISO is available that's fine with me,, at least. .. In the end MS has a lot to explain to clear this up.

You can download the preview ISO from a non windows PC (and also the ESD's to roll your own but you need to use a Windows PC on VM to convert them to ISO). No idea what will happen with RTM but I bet there will be a way to make or get an ISO - there always is.

I'm sure your right about this. Having an ISO to perform a clean install would be a great option to have for some of us.

The last time I talked to MS Support, I was 'assured' that there would be an ISO made available for those that would require doing a clean install and your product key from the upgrade would be re-issued in some undisclosed manner of some sort.

Good to know. I plan on using a spare W7 license and am hoping you don't have to have that OS installed to get the copy of W10.

There is no doubt in my mind that I will upgrade to Windows 10. I've been using Windows since 2.0 and that even included Windows Millennium (which I actually liked). Windows 10 should be a winner and I suspect many will jump to it when the word gets out.

I will upgrade but like all installations, I would like to perform a clean installation as a basis to create images from.

I'm sure MS will have a way for system builders to legally install Windows 10 on a new computer without the need to install a older version of Windows first.
