Dont know the name of these things and cant do a search about them

On windows 10 there is a window on the lower left corner. What is the offical name of that window. ?
While I am asking that I would hope to see a picture that shows the names of all the things in windows 10 like Tiles taskbar
what they call the window when you press windows-R ect.

My problem right now is that I wish to use menu Items relating to the windows-x or right click on the little window on the lower left.

I am sure we dont call it "the little window on the lower left of the screen" or "the menu when I press windows-x"
It would be very helpfull to me to know the name of the menu that comes up when I press windows-x !
I live in this tiny town by yellowstone park. Its not like I can ask the guy next to me on the metro bus !!

I want to explore what these items do and how they work in the "the menu when I press windows-x" but it does not do anything when I press on them.
Thankfully this forum his here and I wont have to spend two hours trying to find answers to these very basic questions. ! !

Hello Cloner and welcome to Ten Forums.

If you mean the window-like icon at the extreme lower left corner, that would be the Windows 10 start button. Right clicking the start button brings up the "right click context menu". The tutorial called Taskbar & Start Menu has several pages of information that may help you out.

You would also benefit greatly from left clicking that Start Button, click on "All Apps" and scroll the ensuing list to "G" and click on "Get Started".

Windows Quick Access menu (aka power user menu)
Windows 10 Tip: Master the Quick Access Menu - Thurrott.com

The Windows icon on the Taskbar is the Start button, although I call it the Menu button (don't - no one will know what you're talking about). It's the button that opens Windows menus

None of the items in the Quick Access menu work?
    If that's the case, try

    Launch a Command Prompt (Admin)

    Method
    Screen Shot

    Quick Access menu

Right click the Windows menu (logo) on the Taskbar

    Select Command Prompt (Admin)
and yes to the UAC prompt

    Search: command

Press the Windows key on your keyboard

    Type command

Right click the search result: Command Prompt

    Select Run as administrator
and yes to the UAC prompt

    File Explorer: File menu

Press the blue File menu on any open File Explorer
    Hover over Command Prompt
or press the arrow to expand the selection

Select Open command prompt as administrator

This is a useful way to launch a batch or script file
in a particular folder with elevated priviliges.

    then enter the following commands

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth & SFC /ScanNow

Report any integrity errors for either Dism or SFC

Slartybart Wow thank you for opening this door for me: "Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool"
I am excited to learn about all this. I noticed that I have the "PowerShell" and then the command prompt and then the elivated command prompt. I am quite happy to see I could copy the text from the command window into this window.
I am unfamiliar with the syntax with / forward slashes.
    Thanks for the post. :)

    Get to know Windows 10

Here's another site that describes various GUI components of Windows. It's dated and some terms are not what MS uses, but it's fairly comprehensive. Most terms carry over from version to version, although Win10 does make some changes to the terminology (Charms is gone from the lexicon ). If you use what Winhelp provides, people will know what you mean and you can search on the term.

There's a brief browser check when you visit the site - not sure what it does ... probably cookies, but just wanted to let you know that I get it too.
