That's not a very secure strategy. The whole point of running security applications (A-V, A-M, A-E, firewall, whatever) is to have them running at system startup and in realtime.
By the time you were to realize you had a "problem" with some of today's exploits and non-viral malware/ransomware, it would be too late.
You want to your protection applications running as early in the boot process as they can.
Manual, on-demand scans can only cleanup stuff that already made it onto the system.
PREVENTION is generally a safer strategy.
I would guess that any system robust enough to run Win10 also has sufficient specs to run at least a lightweight, realtime A-V +/- other layers of realtime protection, even on a "gaming" rig.
{No, this is not to trigger the inevitable debate on WHETHER to use an A-V, A-M, firewall. Since the OP already has them, it's likely safe to assume s/he intends to use that approach to security.}
