missing media keys symbols

Old thread. Not sure if you ever fixed the problem. But I had exact issue and turns out its a simple fix. You just need to reinstall two system symbol font files

Install-Segoe-UI-Symbol-Font-in-Windows-8.zipsegoe-mdl2-assets.zip

This started on my desktop about two weeks ago, and I fixed it by reinstalling all of the Segoe UI fonts from the latest Windows 10 ISO. Make sure to click "install for all users" and if it still shows up, to delete any fonts in the %localappdata%/fonts folder.
