    Help with rescue disk

i have had to restore Win 10 7 times since first install. just updated audio drivers, and lost internet connection, which is what always happens---seems to happen at almost any time it feels like it.

Also lost Word and the templates it came with after first restore, When installed 10, word was there, and restore promised everything that came with my computer would be there---word, brochures, resumes, and other templates it came with were all gone. (Not office).

Updated from Win 7, and now 10 crashes and it takes forever to restore it and redo all my malware, chrome, all my email addresses, and many more things.

Rescue DVD would be handy, but the places that show rescue disk just say 'download' with NO explanation of what it is or what will happen if i use it. Anyone know of a better place to download a rescue disk for the next time 10 crashes, for it will, that i know for certain. need it for a DVD.

Any ideas, or will it be no better than just doing yet another win 10 restore. (have tried all the router tricks---unplug, reset, etc etc.) Nothing works to get back a connection but a restore of 10, which takes forever to get up to speed after restore. Getting really sick of this happening.

grateful for any options for rescue disk,

Windows 10 Restore / Reset only restores the Windows 10 OS.

Thus you may have lost all the programs that where in windows 7...

If you can restore the prior windows 7 OS, I would try that..

Otherwise just Clean Install Windows 10 by booting from the setup media..

You can download windows 10 setup media > http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softw...load/techbench

Hi, have you heard of disk imaging?
Once you have a working configuration, create a disk image. Keep updating it before each major change and afterwards.

When /if Win 10 breaks/you break it, then get out your image, run your disk imaging program (or its boot medium) and restore your image.

Quick (especially if you use a SSD), restores your system to exactly how it was.

Easeus, O&O, Aomei.. many here recommend Macrium (free version may well be adequate).

And your Win 10 boot medium can be used for an in-place upgrade repair if you can log in.. which keeps all programs and most settings.

Maybe loosing the Internet connection is a driver problem. Windows will update your wifi adapter and use the wrong driver. To stop this, use this tool from Microsoft.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930

Also here is a guide to to stop drivers from automatically installing in Windows 10. The top tool you can pick and choose which driver to block. The bottom guide will block all drivers. If everything is working when you do a clean install, I would just block them all.
