That is one tremendous value for a flip touch screen even if it's only 4gb RAM and 8.1. How much more did you pay for the 6gb and Windows 10 ?
I didn't really shop around, because it was kind of an "emergency" purchase. I got it at the Navy Exchange, so did not pay any sales tax.

Intel i3-4005U CPU @ 1.7 GHZ, 6 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, Windows 10 Home. $399 out the door.

Toshiba quality has gone dramatically downhill. They are cheapening up the things so much, they have to put weights in the base so the laptops don't fall backwards when you open them. Plus, the bloatware is over-the-top now.

ASUS is much better, but the tech support is exceptionally poor.

Can you swing a little bit more cash?

    Amazon.com: ASUS F556UA-AS54 15.6-inch Full-HD Laptop (Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) with Windows 10, Icicle Gold: Computers Accessories

This is a super deal for a really nice, non-gaming system.

I have owned both azuse and toshiba.
I would gear toward toshiba. They have little things that can help you recover in a bad situation.
Azuse is not as user friendly

Good to know. I have someone in the market for a touch screen and the flip is adds great use flexibility. Obviously, size and weight puts it in a diff class than a tablet.

Is there any tech support that doesn't? other than EVGA, who don't make laptops, I don't know of any that are worth calling.
Looky here, just $2700.00! Good customer service does not come cheap.

There has to be one in every crowd. It also looks like you get more for your money than customer service.

Was that a shot? You don't always get more for your money, nor decent customer service from a good company. I speak from having bought a lot of their products . Although they have been really good in the past, my last purchase on the 6th of May was a disaster. It has left a bad taste in my mouth and so, it is my last dealings with them.
Seems to me that "good customer service" is more a matter of sheer luck.

I've owned both Toshiba and Asus laptops. Asus makes very good machines as does Toshiba. In MY experience Toshiba has the best customer support of any of the big name manufacturers. Hands down. Having said that, I would probably go with the Asus as I have been mightily impressed with their hardware. Their customer support is by far the WORST I've ever experienced but that is offset somewhat by the quality of their machines. If customer support is high on your list of "wants", go with the Toshiba. If its somewhat lower on your list , go Asus.

    Ok thanks all!

What do you think of these laptops?

    Same ASUS:

    Dell:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-ins...&skuId=4815400

Which one? I like the looks of the Dell, but the ASUS has a 5 bigger processor (Dell - i3 5015U, ASUS has i3 5020U)
