    Event id 10016

I, like many other Win10 users, am getting a lot of DCOM Eventid 10016 events logged. I've seen a number of explanations (which I haven't understood) and several solutions. However, I have not seen a clear description of what requests are failing and what the result of the failure is. Or more specifically, what will happen when these attempts succeed?

I am not seeing any Win10 problems that I can tie to this failure. Is fixing the permissions going to make things better or worse?

Quite a while ago I had a go at fixing a few of them and now I see I have still got two.

They don't seem to have any effect but it makes you wonder why they occur if they don't affect your comp.

Not a good answer to your question but there you go. If I get enthusiastic I may try to get rid of my two!

I worry that I may not like whatever starts working if the problem is fixed.

If you stop looking at Event Viewer, the problem goes away:)

I know there have been several threads about 10016 errors, but none of them seem to solve the real problem. Is anyone aware of Microsoft considering making a fix for this in future builds? I still seem to have MANY of them in my event viewer errors.

There are quite a few threads on the forum like post 2 at this link to fix these errors Windows 10 Event ID 10010 and 10016 Errors With DistributedCOM

You need to edit various permissions so be very careful you know what you are doing. I just fixed these errors on my PC today (not helped by the REGEDIT crashing problem due to dodgy MS software engineering). I've now eradicated these errors.

I realize there are several threads - but I haven't been successful in fixing the problem. I think MS needs to make some effort to solve the issue. My pc's are NOT upgrades from previous Windows 10. bit new original Windows 10 setups, btw. I give up until MS provides a solution or fixes in future builds.

But I still have seen nothing that answers my original questions:
    1. What is the effect of these errors? Something is obviously not working, but so far the failure has no obvious consequences.
    2. What is suddenly going to start working if there errors are cleared up? Is it anything I'm likely to want?

There is a lot in Windows 10 that I consider unwanted junk (such as all of the Microsoft "Apps" delivered as part of Win10). Am I suddenly going to have more junk to deal with?
