I don't know the French prices, but in Germany I pay appr. $18 for DSL6000. Now that is not very fast but it suffices for my purposes.

We in the USA go by megabits not megabytes for speed.

The other day there was on forum member that actually reported that he had a GigaBit line. He was somewhere in the Carolinas and the service was provided by a local company. He paid $85/month. That would be nice to have everywhere.

You are faster then me, but I am on economy service. It works for me, I am able to watch videos and movies very little buffering if any. Only couple of sites I have issue with but they use flash in a weird way. Normal price for my economy service is $39.95 plus modem rental without cable, with limited cable it is 29.95 plus modem rental and around $25.00 for cable. I am currently on a special of 19.95 plus modem rental but I may have got that extended for another year.

The pain is if you want to upload a big file. Like I have a 7GB file that I would like to upload to OneDrive. But at that speed that is quasi impossible.

In Lafayette there is Gigabit service about 7 miles from me I have 50 megabits and can get 100 Megabits for $85, 50 is fine for me.

That is very good. In Florida I pay over $50 for this miserable speed. And there is only 1 provider. So I am stuck.
