Yes, it was not a specific answer I was looking for (as I know how different we all are ) but an opinion of what others are doing. If f.i. 90% wrote they have tried and gone again from Win10 as MAIN OS for now, I would not have any doubs, but if 90% wrote they where using it as MAIN OS, I would have to think if I want to continue with the bugs I have, or go back to Windows 8.1.1. .
You must (THIS IS IMPORTANT) bear in mind that I am 87% cleverer than your average. Therefore my point of view may be 43% less important on the subject of 8.1.1 and 113.2% more important on the subject of cheese it nonetheless may have some bearing on the issue.

    Whatever it was.

    Hope that is clear now.

I'm too modest to tell anything about how clever I am. Let's just say that when I left my greatly missed native Finland some 25+ years ago and moved to The Netherlands (first adopted home country in this ex-pat life of mine), the average IQ of all inhabitants sank drastically in Finland and rose notably in Holland.

I have Windows 10 Build 10041 as the one and only OS on all my computers.

Wolfgang, it's all thanks to Cloud :).

I have 8 TB of OneDrive available through a few email accounts. Although it has sometimes been boring and exhausting, I have sometime ago managed to finally gett all my stuff uploaded and stored in storage folders on OneDrive. All my ISO images, system images, software downloads, docs, pics, music and so on is now in cloud.

I use Windows libraries, certain first level OneDrive folders (Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, Downloads) and their subfolders are included in libraries and set as default save locations, meaning that practically everything I save is synced to cloud. To control that the local storage space (OneDrive folders on my PC) used does not grow too big, I do usually every 7 to 14 days some cleaning online on OneDrive, moving content from these folders which are meant only for my daily use and synced continuously to other storage folders. IMO this is the key for the successfull use of the cloud storage: Do not sync everything, move conttent from synced folders to non-synced folders to store it, only let the content you need on regular basis to be synced.

Anyway, long rant but there was a point: I really do not care how screwed my system might become. I have all my stuff always stored secure and restored. If this preview build crashes, I have restored the image in 15 minutes (I keep an image or two on USB sticks in case of this), give it two more minutes to set OneDrive sync and I am ready to continue testing Windows 10, without losing anything.

Kari. I have 2 clouds. One is a SSHD attached via USB3 that contains all my data and my backups of the virtual partitions. Another is a SSD attached via eSata that contains my 7 virtual partitions (W8.1, W10 and Linux) and also some data. My images from the internal SSD I keep on the internal HDD and on another external HDD.

When I go to Germany from Florida or vice versa, I take my SSHD and have all my up-to-date data and my SSD with all my updated virtual systems. Two little 2.5" disks to carry and I get maximum performance from the SSHD and the SSD. Beats the cloud in my book.

That means that although we have a different approach, you can also test and use a new OS without issues if you so decode. That was / is my point; no reason to worry because basically nothing irreversible can happen.

Guess what!?! You won't have to buy it. Windows 10 will be a free upgrade on every Windows 7 or 8 machine you own. :)

I've been using Windows 10 x64 as my main OS since build 9926 (am now on 10041, runs just fine). I say this because I find that I am spending far more time booted into Windows 10 than I am in either Windows 8.1 or Linux Mint 17.1 Just my $.02
