How to copy all my w8 jumplists to w10?

I had been using w8 for 4 years and now I have switched to w10.

I want to copy my jumplists of all software from w8 to w10. how can I do this?

I have read that Jump list files are located in
    %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations
    and in
    %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations (pinned ones)

so, if I copy entire content of these two folders from w8 10 w10, would I get this transfer made?

of course I can just do that and see the effect, just thought to confirm with learned ones before messing up something.

    Thanks.

I don't think anyone has ever tried that, so you probably won't find an experienced answer.

while working on w10 boot, I tried to access w8 partition, but first it wouldn't let me access USERS, then it allowed.

but even then when I reached Windows/Recent, the the two folder "Custom Destination" and other one, were not even visible.

Now, I will boot in to w8, and copy the content of those folders to some other place, and then boot to w10 and move those backup to the w10 "Custom Destination" and other folder.

    let's see.

I believe you will create more issues than you will solve trying to accomplish this.

    Hello Rawat, :)

I haven't tried it myself, but you would have to have installed any programs in the jump lists first for it to work.

I would recommend to create a restore point in Windows 10 before restoring the jump lists from Windows 8 to be able to undo this if there are any undesirable side effects.
