start menu search problem

Build 14328.

I can't open start menu and begin typing to search anymore. searching only works in the Cortana box.

Cortana box is your search box.

If you left click at Start button > click Search > it will lead you right back to Cortana search box.

Have I misunderstood what you meant ?

I can open he start menu, but cannot type anything there to search anything. Searching works in the Cortana box.

Windows 10 works in this way for a long time. That is not any issue. Provided you dont have any program like Classic Shell installed.

Yes, the start menu fails to open in this version as well as notification center, at least for me , if I reboot starts works again for a while....
