All System Apps stopped working ! Help ?

I built a custom PC with Windows 10 64 Bit installed in it 10 days ago. Everything was running fine. Today I started my computer and showed a notification which requested me to repair C:/ Drive which is where I installed the OS. I clicked the notification and it restarted the computer and in the starting screen (Below Windows logo) it ran the repair and at 100% it restarted. After that it said Hi we are setting up apps for you. It wont take long. Its taking longer than it should, etc.
After that my desktop came up. When I clicked the Start nothing worked. When I clicked volume nothing worked. The taskbar was dead ! But when I right clicked sound and network the dialog box showed up ! But when I tried to play a video I found that the inbuilt Films & TV wasn't there. Soon I found out none of the inbuilt apps were present. My old network connection was nowhere to be found. I try setup a new connection but it replied this dialog box cannot create the connection (or something with the same meaning). Then I created a new user via Powershell and logged in. Wow ! All the apps worked and the start menu opened. But the previous account didn't. Why ? I want to go back to that account. Help ?!!

Hi, I'd suggest you first do a basic check on your disk. Sthg happened to corrupt your profile...

    Try running
    chkdsk c: /F
from an admin (elevated) command prompt and post the result. Thanks.

And what backups do you have? System Image (created by Windows)? Disk Image? System Restore points?

No. It didn't work. Actually, the C drive repair I mentioned previously was chkdsk command that ran automatically by the computer. So, I basically did manually. But, the problem persists.

Hi, sorry, I wasn't suggesting that would fix the problem.. question is, what was the outcome?
Also suggest you check SMART params on the disk.

Once you know the disk is ok, then if you had one of backups I mentioned, you could restore that.
If not, I can only suggest you continue with your new user.

Perhaps someone else will have another suggestion.

It showed no result. After 100% completion it just restarted. I have one system restore point. How to check SMART parameters ? Also I recently used VirtualBox and created a virtual hard drive. Is it the reason ?

Hi, How do you check SMART params? CrystalDiskInfo is one tool. You can search for 'Smart parameters freeware'.

VirtualBox shouldn't be a problem, nor creating virtual drives.

You could try your restore point, of course.. the big question is what damaged your profile..

If I use the restore point, all the files I installed since (Including the ones in the new user) will be gone too right ?

When you use a restore point, you will be given a list of programs affected that will be removed before the restoration proceeds. So you can note this and proceed, or not, as you wish.

Restore points don't affect your personal files.
